The Day of Belarusian Writing Language

The Day of Belarusian Writing Language is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of September.

In books, in the words of poets and thinkers are reflected the history of the people. Belarusians have something to be proud of – Belarusian Writing has centuries-old traditions. The enlighteners of the Belarusian people are figures of European scale.

During the event, the Day of Belarusian Writing Language has acquired a national status, has become one of the most important ideological state events, a significant event in the cultural life of the country.

The main idea of the holiday is the preservation and development of the spiritual heritage of Belarus.

Thousands of guests from all over Belarus and abroad gather for the holiday every year.

The Day of Belarusian Writing Language will be held on September 3, 2023 in Gorodok, Vitebsk region.

The holiday will end with the passing of the baton to the capital city of the Day of Belarusian Writing Language in 2024.
