Ambassador Dmitry Mironchik presents Credentials to the King of Norway

On November 29, 2018 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Norway with residence in Stockholm, Dmitry Mironchik, presented his credentials to King of Norway Harald V.

As part of the ceremony, the Ambassador had a traditional audience with the Head of the Norwegian state. During the conversation, the sides noted that the renewal of accreditation of the Belarusian Ambassador to Oslo after a six-year break was intended to strengthen contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries and enhance bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas, primarily in the economy and the humanitarian sphere.

It was stressed that the upcoming II European Games in 2019 are the best reason for Norwegian tourists to take advantage of the 30-day visa-free regime introduced by Belarus.

The Ambassador informed the monarch that Norway ranks first in terms of trade with Belarus among the Scandinavian countries, while bilateral trade is balanced and mutually beneficial.

The day before the audience with the Head of the Norwegian state, the Ambassador of Belarus met with the Deputy Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry of Norway, Torgeir Larsen, and the Deputy Chief of Protocol of the Foreign Ministry, Sigvald Hauge.

The parties stated their mutual interest in the further development of the Belarusian-Norwegian relations, discussed the schedule and agenda for the upcoming high-level events in the area of interministerial cooperation.
