Ambassador Dmitry Mironchik addresses the Stockholm International School Model United Nations 2020 conference

On January 31, 2020 the Ambassador of Belarus to Sweden, Dmitry Mironchik, addressed the participants of the 8th annual SISMUN Model United Nations Conference. This year's event, hosted by the Stockholm International School on January 30 – February 1 and bringing together about 250 students from across Scandinavia, had as its emphasis the numerous risks to Global Security.

During his speech, the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission outlined before the audience the existing threats to global security. He emphasized the paramount importance of compliance by all countries to the UN Charter provisions as the prerequisite for maintaining international peace.

Ambassador Mironchik elaborated on Belarus contribution to strengthening regional and global security. He exemplified it providing information on concrete actions taken by Belarus in the spheres of disarmament and arms control, as well as confidence-building measures in the OSCE region. He also explained the audience the essence of the Belarusian initiative of a broad dialogue on European security.
