Presentation of two films about the genocide of the Belarusian people
28.11.2025On November 27, 2025, the Embassy organized in Västra Götaland county of Sweden a screening of film-dilogy about the genocide of the Belarusian people with presentation of documentary films by the “Belarusfilm” studio: “Burned Villages” and “Death Camps”. The event also was attended by representatives of Belarusian diaspora and Swedish public associations.
In his opening remarks, Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus in Sweden Yaraslau Martsinkevich drew the audience's attention to the celebration in 2025 of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the results of the investigation by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus into the criminal case concerning the genocide of the population of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.
The importance of preserving accurate facts about these tragic events for future generations, including as a reminder of the price of peace and the need to protect historical memory, as well as the truth about the outcome of the Great Patriotic War was also noted.
